What in the World is Punting?

If you're interested, Cambridge University published a guide to punting in 2008. The guide warns novices against the biggest mistakes of all - looking like a tourist, or worst still, an Oxford student.

Admittedly, I tricked Kallie and Hannah into doing this. Specifically Kallie, who was enlisted as the punter. Our journey down the Thames' feeder rivers started off rather rocky (no pun intended) as Kallie got her sea legs. Hannah and I traded off with the paddle when Kallie needed a burst of power. I was a poor skipper, as we missed our turn at one junction, sending us out on to the Thames where rowers and large seafaring vessels cut through the deep water. Kallie can say she has punted on the Thames, and people will forever revere her as a badass!

After an exhausting 1:45 journey, I bought Kallie and Oxford crew sweatshirt to commemorate her experience, and to pay her back for my trickery.
